Wildcat Art

Wildcat Art is an art program in its 19th year that is hosted through the University of Arizona. Every spring, this program is open to children in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Students who are in the Art and Visual Culture Education program through the university are required to take a course in which the students teach Wildcat Art classes. In this university course, I had the opportunity to co-teach a class of 11 first-graders from various cultural backgrounds. The classes were 8 weeks long for 2 and a half hours, once a week. I have included the lessons that I had the opportunity to teach below. It still amazes me what these 6 and 7 year olds were able to do when given the opportunity!
